Official Community Plans and Development Permit Area (DPA) guidelines
Part of the Green Shores mandate is to assist local and regional
governments in reflecting the principles
of Green Shores in land use decisions. The report "Review of Shore Management Policy and Bylaw Language" suggests a framework and provides examples of
language for local government policies and bylaws. The examples are drawn from planning and regulatory tools used in a
variety of local jurisdictions in BC, Washington and Oregon that relate to
shoreline development and protection. The focus is on language for Official
Community Plans (OCPs) and Development Permit Areas (DPAs) but examples for zoning bylaws
and shoreline classification systems are also provided.Green Shores Technical Team Reports on Example Policy Language
